Research

We are concerned with the investigation of different forms of matter, including concrete and other brittle disordered materials (moisture sensitive quasi-brittle materials), wood, steel and stainless steel.

Degradation mechanisms under mechanical load and environmental assisted damage and aging processes like corrosion are the main focus of research. Newly, the computational physics of engineering materials became a field of research.
