New paper on Salt-in-Wood for piezoelectric renewable devices.

We developed renewable piezoelectric devices using laser-designed wood templates to grow Rochelle salt crystals as pillars. This setup addresses the crystal brittleness while enabling stress activation. To avoid metal electrodes, we use laser graphitization as a new method to create carbon electrodes on the composite’s surface. Built for a circular economy, the devices are easy to assemble, recyclable, and emit 60% less CO₂ than commercial lead-based ceramics.
