Anjo is a research assistant in the historic building materials chapter of the Physical Chemistry of Building Materials group (PCBM).

A built heritage conservator by training, Anjo enjoys interfacing with the engineering disciplines and the research environment. In addition to his work at ETH, Anjo is active on conservation projects concerning planning, documenting, and performing conservation interventions in Switzerland and abroad. He taught and organized workshops addressing the reduction of hygroscopic salts in porous building materials as well as photogrammetry and GIS for cultural heritage applications.

Anjo's interest in the engineering disciplines and building materials was fostered during an internship in the building materials lab of the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles following his Master's studies, which specialized in the conservation of architectural surfaces at SUPSI in Switzerland. Before that, Anjo worked as an apprentice on the conservation of wall paintings in France and consolidated his love for built heritage during his studies and employment in Rome and Florence.
