Post-fire Restoration of Historic Buildings: the case of Notre-Dame de Paris

The main materials science challenges of post-fire restoration of historic buildings in relation to issues of structural integrity, fire safety and preservation ethics are discussed in the case of Notre-Dame de Paris
Concrete Choreography

Accelerators developed at PCBM allowing rapid vertical build-up were used for several large scale demonstrators with the NCCR Digital Fabrication in Architecture, including the Concrete Choreography columns installed for the Origen Festival in Riom, Graubünden (Chair for Digital Building Technologies).

A review on Digital Casting

Digital Casting Systems represent a family of digital fabrication processes derived from our original work on robotic slip-forming, coined Smart Dynamic Casting.
Cover page in 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing

A paper from the collaborative research project of the NCCR on digital fabrication with concrete has been published with a cover page for 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing.
New insights into yield stress

The paper 'Shifting factor—A new paradigm for studying the rheology of cementitious suspensions' provides a new approach to account for the effects of solids volume fraction and superplasticizer dosage on the yield stress of admixed cementitious systems.
Publication in the 50 years issue of Materials and Structures

From the PhD of Ms. Sara Mantellato sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation, a paper has been published in the 50 years special issue of Materials and Structures. The increase of specific surface area in the early stages of the acceleration period is shown to account for the increase in yield stress.
Feature paper in Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The PhD work of Ms. Delphine Marchon to unravel the connection between the molecualr architecture of PCE superplasticizers and the retardation of cement hydration has been published as a feature paper in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society
